Next up on Industry Standard we welcome one of Oliver’s friends and collaborators from Melbourne, Australia, Ben Silver. Having released on Refuge Recordings, and soon to feature on a collaboration with Oliver on Rekids, it’s a pleasure to welcome to Ben to the IS Music family.
Oliver often spends time working on music in the awesome ‘Silver Studio’ in Melbourne when he’s on tour, so it’s only right to get some of Ben’s music hot of the desk. Ben has delivered a great 2 track release for us.
The A-side ‘F So Good’ is carried by an energetic B-line, and gospel style church clapping, with the looping vocal locking the groove in. The infectious keys then take the track to the next level. This is peak, quality underground house music.
On the B-side Ben takes things deeper… ‘In The Cage’ is an ode to the DJ Booth of Revolver Upstairs, Melbourne, where he’s one of the resident DJ’s. This low slung track oozes quality with its spoken word vocal, jazzy keys and lush chord pads. This is an outstanding debut on Industry Standard for Ben Silver.
