createAlbum(“Piano II”) is a generative music album—the third release powered by our custom-built –Music Engine–. It represents the culmination of a year-long process dedicated to refining the algorithm for nuanced piano performance. The engine is capable of operating fully autonomously or responding to human input in real time, allowing for dynamic, interactive expression. The album features fourteen recordings, each generated from unique seeds and preset configurations within the engine, capturing a wide spectrum of moods, textures, and musical ideas.

createAlbum(“Piano II”);, a generative album which presents evolving compositions shaped by the interplay between generative systems and human input. Each piece emerges from a real-time engine that can run indefinitely—guided by a set of musical rules, responsive to human control, or left to unfold autonomously.
We used our –Music Engine– to sequence a wide palette of sounds, combining hardware digital pianos from –Roland– and –Yamaha– with cutting-edge physically modeled instruments like –Modartt’s Pianoteq– and –Arturia’s Piano V– — both based on –Karplus-Strong– synthesis rather than traditional sample libraries. These were complemented by premium sampled instruments, including –Spectrasonics Keyscape–, –EastWest Sounds–, –Universal Audio Ravel–, and others.
Each instrument contributed distinct textures and expressive potential, helping us shape not just the sound but also the musical behavior of the algorithm itself. In this way, the tools became collaborators—integral to crafting an album that blurs the line between machine and musician.
